Grace S.

Grace is committed to providing non-judgmental, quality care for new mothers and their partners. She became a Lamaze Certified Childbirth Educator in 2017. Throughout her birth career, she has been exposed to all kinds of childbirth education philosophies and decided on Lamaze because it has been updated since the years of funny breathing to giving parents evidence-based information to help them avoid unnecessary interventions. This matches with her philosophy as she wants her clients to be aware of their choices and feel confident as they enter the process of having their babies. Grace has taught at a major NYC hospital, 2 NYC childbirth education companies, and teaches private classes all over the city. She loves teaching. She finds it to be a great way to connect with clients and share her knowledge with them. Grace is warm, reliable and uncompromising in her dedication to her work and to the inclusion and acceptance of all she meets.

Not necessarily. But we highly recommend it because information is power. Learning what to expect from your birth process is the key to having a peaceful journey. Our childbirth educators will give you the confidence to interface with your clinical team and make sure that you know all your options at every step. Deeply grounding this practice in evidenced based information and conveying it to their clients in a way that is approachable and relatable.
Yes. And whoever else you choose to invite to presence the birth of your baby.
The most optimal time for a childbirth class is between 20 and 30 weeks. It gives you an opportunity to gain knowledge and clarity about the birth process and choices and a postpartum period. Your preferences for birth and postpartum will become more crystallized throughout the class and it will give you more time to plan for whatever your wishes for birth might be. Nevertheless, if you are already past 30 weeks, taking a class will be always beneficial at any stage before labor starts.
